My name is Brian Griffin, my background is in graphic design, marketing and website management. I am moving into UX and this portfolio website is trying really hard to get you interested enough to give me an interview.
Original Concept, Design, Build & Reporting
This project (my initiative) came from a call with the customer success team and resulted in a training portal that was used across sales, marketing & customer success.
Project Management
The AutoEntry website needed work as the messaging was out of date, the creative looked dated also, and the user journey was a bit messy. This project was completed in <3 months.
Original Concept, Design & Build
The original request was to find a way to make contact with users to notify them of scheduled maintenance etc. I was able to turn this into a primary channel that is still used today.
Design
This is the UI design that I submitted as part of my UI Design course with Institute of UX.
I was a graphic designer in a previous life. I did that for 15 years, working with software companies, ad aagencies and a bluechip company. I would always ask about the brief I was given which I later learned was me bing interested in Marketing.
I moved over to Digital Marketing, got a Masters in TU Dublin and worked in that space for 10 years, ending up as a DIgital Marketing Manager for a SaaS company.
The full customer journey was really interesting to me and so I've moved over to User Experience now. Again, I have a few qualifications and the next step for me is to start working in this area.
I have taken a year off from my last role as I wanted a break and I was lucky enough to be able to do that.
I have hired people in the past and the first hurdle was always deciding who to interview. CVs usually look the same and say the same things, and so I decided to record a quick message.
10 plus years SaaS experience in design, marketing & website management roles.
Worked on 3 SaaS customer journeys in recent years and learned a lot from each!
Worked closely with people at all levels all the way up to CEOs. Respect is key!
The smartest person is always the one talking about what the customer wants.
Love an idea, or adding to someone elses, I know when to share and when not to :)
Always learning, sometimes from a colleague, sometimes from a customer.
